What I have learned during this course!

After taking Communication course it has helped me toimprove self-knowledge and self perception because most self-knowledge comes to us through communicating efficiently. Studying communication has improved me to develop and manage relationships and work effectively with others.

This course has boosted me a lot and helped me toexpress myself in a better way. It also teaches you about how to speak in audience with full confidence. This course has made me learned various new topics such as Communication in digital age, Business presentation, emotion and feeling, communication and identity, Positive and Negative messages, Interviewing questions-follow up and many more things. All the presentation we did were effective and interesting. There were many presentation that were done in the class as well as online and all were conducted greatly by our Prof. Gabie – I highly recommend this class with her and she is the one who always motivated me with all my work!

Ashton kutcher’s speech!

Ashton after expressing gratitude toward his fans and telling them particularly how he contains a career as it were since of them and their interminable cherish, he needed to conversation around 3 lessons he learnt some time recently getting to be a open figure as ‘’Ashton’’ by the age of 19. So, Chris (to begin with title) talked almost 3 specific insider insider facts that make things adhere all through his career, being a professional at this topic-opportunities, being provocative and living life. He said anything occupations and encounters come over one’s way like a eatery steward, a sweeper in industrial facilities or a store staff at a basic need store, are all openings to develop and coming to your dreams and objectives in life.

What truly awed me was his moment point, alluding to how being provocative is really being truly savvy, astute and liberal! Shrewd to not ‘’buy’’ anything any society tries to offer you in arrange to feel less. Coming to his third point, it’s not around living life in this world, instead of building one, you, on your possess!

Ellen page’s speech!

The 26-year-old Ellen, in her speech shared the feelings of many LGBT people who are in positions that prevent them from living openly, saying that it had a profoundly negative effect on all aspects of her life.

With this speech, she joined the growing people of openly gay people in positions of note who hope to show that a person’s sexuality is not a problem and that people can succeed in any field regardless of their individuality and personality.

The best idea about this video was that Ellen accepted her sexuality in front of the people which was very brave of her to do. She is not ashamed for her individuality. She is the change we want in our society. She stands firm in support of her group and provides them with the platform where anyone can be what they want to be irrespective of society’s norm. We should all thanks Hellen for this wonderful inspiring speech.

I wanna see you Brave

The Scariest moment according to me is just before you start, but once you start and you are into it you start to get comfortable and this is something that I say by my experience because I just had my impromptu talk that had been haunting me since the day my professor told me that we would be having an activity which will require you to prepare and present on the spot as I have been one person who is always very conscious and nervous when it comes to public speaking but to my surprise I have been doing good, the last presentation I gave on the topic Money can buy happiness made me feel that I have it in me but is just suppressed somewhere down and all I need to do is dig until it is out completely.

And then I am faced with an on the spot presentation, anxious nervous was what I felt in those few minutes when ,y professor said that Yukta you are going first and your topic is the most Influential person and my mind was blank couldn’t figure out who should I talk about and what should that be so what I did was closed my eyes and took a deep breath and heard a voice and it said that my daughters are very strong and they will achieve whatever they wish to in their life, and I knew what I had to do now.
And this song Be Brave by Sara Bareilles reminds me of most of the things my dad said like” Everyone has been stared down by their enemies and fallen for the fear and done something worth disappearing” He says we have all been there but the one who comes out and follows the light is the one who is strong and people set them as their role models and I want you to be one of them.
the song really inspired me and made a connect with and it is going play every time I am afraid or nervous to do something

Life on your own!

Being a enthusiastic kid, I always wondered what would life be living on my own. However, this thought became reality when I moved to Halifax in 2018. Smallest child is always the most pampered and so was I, which made my life tougher than what I would have thought. Doing every household on your own, studying time to time and working part time job altogether makes you a different person.

This Life do give you a positive attitude towards everything and doing things your way is always a great feeling. Apart from separated from your family and loved ones, living independently is a good experience, further which is essential to learn to how to step up.

My first job ever!!

So, its been almost one and half year since I am here in Canada and it has been a good journey with some good and bad experiences. For me it was very difficult to leave my home country and come here in  a entirely new environment. Like every international student, it was very difficult for me to find a summer job. My all friends were working and were earning a decent income. They were able to cover their living expenses, me on the other hand was still struggling to find a job.

So, I decided to apply at every first place I could think of. I didn’t even look at the positions when I was applying because it didn’t matter to me at that time. I kept waiting for two weeks to get a reply but on one afternoon when I decided to go out and explore more about the job opportunities, I got a call from Atlantic superstore operated by Loblaw’s company. I was shocked to hear that I applied for the Cake decorator position and now they are calling me for the job interview. At first, I got disappointed and thought I should call them and tell them that I don’t have any cake decorating experience. But then I thought that I should give it a shot. I went for my interview and they were pleased to see that I was interested in getting that job. Since my young age I have always been creative and had slow and steady hands to do artistic works. In no more then one week I learnt how to write on the cakes, put flowers and balloons on it. My manager was impressed with me and on one day she told me that I trained enough to work on the cake orders alone. I got nervous at first because I didn’t wanted to ruin someone’s birthday cake. But I took that opportunity and started working on it. I still remember, it was specialty (themed- avengers) cake order for a 7-year old and when he saw his Birthday cake he got so happy that it made me feel so good for the first time in this country. I like my job as it allows me to add more happiness and sweetness into someone’s life by serving them beautifully decorated yummy cakes.

Steve Jobs’ s Stanford address

So, I Just watched a video Steve Jobs speech at Stanford college and I must say it is must watch video. He shared a few instances from his life and listening to that speech really makes you think about what you were doing with your life until now. I mean for me; it was the point of life where I asked myself where is my life heading to and am really loving the thing I am doing right now to support my future.

I happen to consider these ideas once in a while given the open door through every day circumstances yet it wasn’t up to this point I watched Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford University’s 114th graduation service discourse that made me consider how the general public anticipates that us should stroll on that one way it outlines out for us so as to be successful in your life. The CEO and fellow benefactor of Apple PC and Pixar Animation Studios initiated his discourse expressing this was the nearest he had ever been to a school graduation as he never graduated college himself, having dropped out very right off the bat in his scholastic profession at Reed College. He went on discussing how he recall three stories of his life ‘’Connecting the dots’’, ‘’Love and loss’’ and ‘’Death”.

First story was of his biological mom needed to give him up for selection to a couple of adopters who might have him finished scholarly examinations in college which is the thing that would make them an effective and successful people. In any case, Steve dropped out of college thinking he was wasting his folks’ lifetime reserved money on education costs that weren’t even of a field of his advantage. Through this story he encourages his seniors to have confidence in the way that the spots will figure out how to fill up soon in future even if they don’t now.

His second story “Love and Loss” talked us through the height of his Apple creation days as a 20 year old kid, working from his parents’ garage alongside an accomplice, to just make it as a $2 billion dollar organization of 4000+ employees and lose everything upon the day he was terminated from his own organization. What was believed to be the most noticeably terrible snapshot of his life, appeared to really have been the best as not having lost one piece of his love for what he did, he started from the beginning and made two similarly successful companies like NeXt and Pixar. That same period he also met his significant other with whom he made a family making this a mind-blowing timespan! He asks everybody no to settle, continue searching for what they love…

‘’Death’’ takes us on a far more personal insight on his life, tending to his pancreatic cancer discovery. The idea of death was valuable and purely intellectual to him as he continued to name it the absolute best innovation throughout his life.

This video was definitely in excess of a helpful discourse originating from one of the best people on the planet to me. It was a chance to think about my convictions, values and the legitimacy of my present way to my own special achievement!

ALWAYS’s “ Like a Girl”

When a female teenager reaches puberty, her self-confidence plummets. At this age, girls become six times less likely to participate in sports than their male peers. This ad concentrates on one of the things that, undoubtedly, every single person, regardless of gender has heard at some point in their lives: “You throw like a girl!” Or “ you hit like a girl”. These words were thrown like daggers on the playground, usually out of the sneering mouth of a classmate. Some parents may have even said it to their children. In Always’s ad campaign, they use strong emotional appeals to empower girls, and to eliminate these phrases as negative or as an insults and to instead, demonstrate exactly how amazing it is to be a girl.

This commercial is persuasive to me because it displays the values of the company. Because this ad shows it’s support to women – something I strongly believe in, I was motivated to try Always one year ago. The product in itSelf provided the same quality as the previous brand I used, however this ad is the reason I have brand loyalty to Always now.

« Your Body language shapes who you are »

so, I just watched a ted talk on “ How your Body Language shapes who you are ” by Amy Cuddy. The key point of this ted talk was link between power and nonverbal behaviour. Amy Cuddy claims that science has shown that this link has to have some connection with our hormones. When we are feeling confident and powerful, we will open up & expand our body, however, when you are feeling insecure, our body hunches. She explains how Testosterone is the hormone of dominance and Cortisol the stress hormone. The former is excreted when you’re in a position of power, and the latter when you’re stressful.

Amy focuses on how Body Language Speaks volumes About you, people just don’t listens your words, they read your body language, your reactions to different situations. Some of them are so deeply imprinted in our human nature that even people who are born blind raise their hands in triumph after a victory. The most interesting fact in that video was the influence of Wonder Woman- styled powerful stance for two minutes on your body. It can increase our testosterone levels by 20% and decrease your cortisol levels by 25%. It’s called Power posing and this thing can change our lives. Visual aids were used in a effective way. Her personal experience with social anxiety, how she faced her audience is something we all go through. “ Fake it till you Become it” is what we all need. I strongly agree that we need to do it no matter how hard it is, and even how bad we are at it because it is better to do something rather than not doing anything.
